Time Is Now: World Clock & Device Time Difference

What time is it right now? Compare world clocks and check the gap between your device clock and a fresh Cloudflare network time reference.

Time checks use this site’s Cloudflare endpoint. No account or API key is needed.

Network uncertainty describes the timing estimate, not the accuracy of the server clock. This is not an NTP or atomic-clock measurement.

Time zones and daylight saving changes use your browser’s time-zone data. Dates are shown for every city.

How to use this tool

  1. Wait for the network time check. Five short requests estimate the device clock difference and network uncertainty.

  2. Choose a time zone to view its current time, date and UTC offset. Compare the city clocks below.

  3. Read whether your device is ahead or behind. Check again after changing your clock or returning from sleep.

Current world time, UTC and local time

A time zone changes how the same instant is displayed. Beijing, London and New York may show different hours and even different dates without any clock being wrong. UTC provides a shared reference. These clocks use IANA time zone names and the browser’s time zone data to account for daylight saving time.

How the clock difference is measured

The page requests a timestamp from a Cloudflare edge function five times and uses the successful sample with the shortest round trip. It estimates one-way delay as half the round trip and compares that reference with the device clock. The displayed uncertainty is an estimate of network delay only; it does not include server clock error or browser timer precision. This is a browser clock check, not a certified atomic clock or an NTP client.

A clock that stays honest when offline

Until a network check succeeds, the displayed times come from your device and the clock difference is unknown. Checks expire after five minutes. Returning from a hidden tab, sleeping the computer, losing the connection or changing the system clock requires a fresh measurement. The page never changes your system clock.

Common questions

What does “your device is behind” mean?

Your device shows an earlier time than the measured network reference. For example, a 2-second gap means the reference has already reached 12:00:02 while your device still shows 12:00:00. A different time zone is not a clock error.

How accurate is this online time check?

Accuracy depends on network delay, the Cloudflare server clock and browser timers. The page reports round-trip latency and an estimated network uncertainty instead of promising millisecond accuracy. If the measured difference falls within that uncertainty, it cannot reliably tell whether the device is ahead or behind.

Why does the device time differ from the network time?

Automatic time synchronization may be disabled, the device may have been offline, or its clock may have drifted. Check your operating system’s automatic date and time settings, reconnect, and measure again. Incorrect time zone settings can change the displayed hour without changing the underlying clock.
